In order to serve the public sector, The Work Number® provides a limited-access service called the Standard Service. This service is a pared-down version of the eXpress Service and provides a faxed verification in 5 business days. In order to use this service, you must know the applicant's Social Security Number (SSN) *and* the name of the applicant’s employer.

The Standard Service does not give you the ability to search the database using solely the applicant’s SSN. This SSN Search option is a feature of the eXpress Service only.
